This renovation included the replacement of an existing linear accelerator (LINAC) and associated imaging room finishes and MEP infrastructure. Construction occurred at the center of Emerson Hospital’s cancer center wing, which required extensive planning to minimize disruption to ongoing clinical operations. The work involved dismantling and safely removing the old LINAC; replacing the chiller, AHU, power supply and radiation shielding; and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Once the new LINAC was installed, calibration and testing were performed to ensure optimal performance. Collaboration between hospital staff, the Sterling team, and equipment suppliers was crucial to ensuring timely completion and integration into clinical workflows.
