Rewriting

Founders Andrew Colameta and Nathan Pfleegor began their construction journeys on the ground, Andrew as an electrician, Nathan as a carpenter. Their paths converged during a technically demanding infrastructure upgrade at Emerson Hospital, where they discovered a shared drive for tackling critical, occupied projects with clarity and precision. That collaboration became the foundation for Sterling Construction, launched in 2016 to fill a clear gap in the market: a firm that could simplify complexity, not just manage it.

We were never interested in doing things the way they’ve always been done. We set out to build a firm rooted in expertise, trust, and purpose that thrives in environments others avoid: hospitals, active research labs, critical infrastructure corridors. Today, we’re a tight-knit, forward-thinking team that brings deep technical knowledge and relentless problem-solving to every jobsite. We don’t just build; we lead, coordinate, and deliver with a calm confidence that keeps projects moving, even under pressure.
