UMass Memorial Health Women’s Imaging Center

This new 4,800-square-foot stand-alone facility is located on the UMass Memorial hospital campus and was built less than 100 feet from the main hospital. With construction occurring at the main entrance of the emergency room, the project required continuous coordination with the hospital to incorporate infrastructure across the main path of ambulance travel and coordinate tie-ins without disrupting emergency room access and operations. The new facility includes technology for 3D mammography, Automated Breast Ultrasound, bone density screening, breast ultrasound, stereotactic breast biopsy and genetic testing. Previously located off campus, the highly collaborative project required new infrastructure with gas, electric, and plumbing systems to support the state-of-the-art facility.
