The 27 Drydock Infrastructure Project involved the conversion of a portion of an existing office building into fully modernized laboratory space located in Boston’s Seaport District. To support the specialized operational requirements of laboratory environments, the project required substantial upgrades to the building’s electrical infrastructure. The Sterling team installed new standby power systems and enhanced the main electrical distribution to ensure reliable, uninterrupted service for critical equipment and building systems.
Working across nine floors within the 270,000-square-foot facility, the team coordinated improvements within an occupied, multi-tenant building while maintaining ongoing operations. These upgrades strengthened the building’s infrastructure and created the capacity needed to support advanced laboratory uses, helping transform the property into a modern life sciences environment capable of accommodating multiple tenants and evolving research needs.
