Sterling Construction was engaged to install a new wheat heating system and replace the existing air handling units at an active wheat manufacturing mill. Given the facility’s continuous operations and food-grade requirements, all work was carefully coordinated to maintain production schedules while meeting strict cleanliness and safety standards.
The scope of work included removal of outdated mechanical equipment, installation of new wheat heating systems, replacement of air handlers, and integration of updated ductwork and controls. A phased construction plan was implemented to minimize downtime, with off-hour work and temporary systems used during critical changeovers. Close coordination with plant operations ensured seamless transitions and protected sensitive processing areas from dust, debris, and contamination.
The completed facility boasts improved environmental control, enhanced system performance, and increased operational efficiency. Sterling delivered the complex mechanical upgrades in the fully active manufacturing environment while maintaining safety, quality, and production continuity.
