This fourth and fifth floor renovation transformed more than 16,000 square feet of clinical space to support the Federally Qualified Health Center expand care programs and improve accessibility for the Brockton community. The project included the creation of 17 new exam rooms, including a state-of-the- art negatively pressurized exam room for enhanced patient safety. The project also delivered a new eye services suite, provider offices, central supply areas, and upgraded conference rooms. Refreshed nurse stations and waiting areas were designed to improve wayfinding, enhance patient comfort, and streamline daily clinical operations.
Construction involved a phased renovation within an active healthcare facility, requiring careful logistics planning, ICRA compliance, and close coordination with facility staff. Sterling also worked closely with the Health Center’s approach to utilizing grant funding for significant mechanical infrastructure upgrades, including the installation of 60 new heat pumps and two new air handling units to improve building performance, energy efficiency, and environmental control throughout the building. Through disciplined scheduling, early trade engagement, and proactive decision making, Sterling significantly accelerated the project timeline, reducing the duration of onsite disruption and overall project cost.
